Site Visit to Battersea Power Station (Phase 2)

13:45 – 16:00 16-11-2016
End of Cringle Street SW8 5BN

The IStructE London Young Members' Group have organised a site visit to Battersea Power Station (Phase 2) on the 16th November.

Battersea Power Station was originally designed by Architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, it opened in 1933 and has been disused since 1982. The former power station is now at the heart of the wider Nine Elms Regeneration Plan.  The £1+bn conversion of the Grade II listed building is due to complete by 2021, taking it from an empty, asbestos filled shell to a mixed use development containing 254 apartments, commercial, events, office, and leisure spaces, plus a Northern Line extension.  The scale of the project is one of the major challenges in addition reuse and preservation of the existing structure.

Due to the nature of the site, we can only offer 10 places on the visit. For fairness the places will be allocated at random to those that sign up.
